Bison is one of the brands of Bolton Adhesives, a merger of several renowned adhesive brands with a rich history. It all started over a hundred years ago with UHU, the well-known trademark for paper glue, developed by German pharmacist August Fischer in 1905 in Bühl. In the 1930s, Dutchman Cornelis van de Reepe founded Bison, originally known as Perfecta Chemie. In the 1990s, both UHU and Bison became part of the Bolton Group. The Griffon and Bostik brands were added later, and in 2012, the strengths of these four adhesive brands were combined under the name Bolton Adhesives.
